Great Heater - We got this heater for our combined kitchen/living space a few months ago. The room is about 9m(L)X 3.5m(w)X 2.5m(h).On Max it can silently (no more pops after about a week) and quickly get the room from 7 or so to a toasty 23-24 & it ll go way beyond that if left on Max 35 - I ll leave it ticking over on the low setting for the rest of the day (Which *might* be 500w, I m not sure) and it ll keep the room at a nice consistent temperature. I m really glad we got it, so much heat comes out of it on max that I can make hot-air balloons from Tesco bags and float them with it. Now *there s* a good reason to get one :-)

Climate Cobtrol does not Work! - Cheaper heaters have a thermostat that measures and regulates the temperature of the heater not the room, so you have to adjust the setting of the thermostat depending how cold it is and and therefore how much heatloss there is from the room. The settings on the thermostat are arbitary and do not correspond to room temperature. For an Extra £10 you can get this heater with Electric Climate Control and a remote. Allows you to set the desired room tempterature in degrees Celcius and it will run until the room reaches this tempterature and maintain it, you do not need to keep ajusting the heater for differing rates of heat loss or when moving it from one room to another.Okay that s the theory, it sounds great, will save you more than £10 in fuel bills alone.... if it worked.Problem is, the digital thermometer is on the heater and not in the remote, so when the heater switches on, it warms up the thermometer long bef0ore the rest of the room. The heater basically manages the temperature of the control panel, not the room. When the radiator is cold, it s digital temperature readouts are accurate (you move the desired temperature up and down and wait for the thermostat to switch on to know what temperature the unit thinks the room is). However, once the heater has been on for a while, I was finding it thought the room was 6c warmer than I was meausuring only 1 foot from the heater. I wanted the room to be 19c, my own thermometers were telling me it was 17c, yet the heater had to be set to 26c before it would run and full power. at 23c it switched off, and 24c and 25c it ran at 1/3 and 2/3 power.Basically this it is no better than the cheaper systems that only have an arbitary thermostat.Bionaire used to make a heater with a remote temperature gauge which worked brilliantly until it was recalled. I am going to return this Delonghi unit and try the Dimplex Cadiz which claims accuracy to 0.5c however it too has the temperature gauge in on the heater rather than the remote so I am less than confident.FYI, I have tried mains adapters with temperature and timer funcions built in. These are equally useless, when the heater warms up, it draws enough current to warm the elctrical cable and socket up, and thus the inbuilt thermometer temperature inside the socket not the room.

Wish it was silent - This heats our room very quickly and is not drying but it creaks something awful when the thermostat shuts it off or I unplug it because its woken me up for the third or fourth time in a night.

Great Heater But Is It New? - The heater itself is very good. Easy to use and quiet, it clicked once as it warmed up for the first time. I use it in my outbuildings which have no heat and it maintains a steady temperature. I also like the way it goes into low power mode to keep the heat constant. The problem I have with this item is that I specifically ordered a new one and the one I received from amazon had been opened and selataped shut. The Instructions were open as was the remote control and the plug had been unwrapped. This would suggest this item had been used. The castors showed signs of use and there are screwdriver marks on the control panel suggesting it has been removed. I contacted amazon and they are sending me a replacement new item. I will wait and see.

Damage Issues - Received the product very quickly but was damaged!! So sent it back and as usual amazon sent the second oil filled radiator the next day and hurray!!! that had minor damage also??? Didnt bother sending it back as it was a minor issue!! However was dissapointed with the delivery company that Amazon use as they have a habit of damaging the radiator in transit!! Spoke to the person at Amazon, she was helpfull but gave me the wrong address to send the product to? I sussed out the right address and sent it there otherwise i would have had to pay extra for delivery to the wrong address!!! Overall not to happy with the service and product but will manage!!!!
