Lot of cash for questionable value - A super big heater, super big price, build and finish quality good and heating OK but maybe its my fault in that I bought a few of these hoping to replace central heating in a flat, and they are not proving to be flexible enough. Whilst both are set on timer, to get a manual over ride you have to crouch down, reach for your glasses, find a miniscule pin switch for going onto manual - not good for such a price. I put this question to Delongi and guess what - zero response. My search continues...... Maybe I should go for a new CH system..
Great - This must be one of the best purchases I have ever made. We have a lounge and dining room which the overall size of both is 27 x 13 and it is powerful enough to heat this area when on maximum! This heater saves turning the central heating on a lot, therefore saving a bomb on gas & the ten year guarantee gives plenty of peace of mind.
Excellent Heater - Wanted something to heat up a large room without having to waste energy by switching on the central heating which would heat the whole house (4 bedrooms).Room heats up under 15 mins and stays warm for the rest of the day. Not noticed any changes to my electric bill so rate this very highly on both fronts and find this fairly economical especially without having to pay high gas prices to warm up the rest of the house when I only need to work in one room.
Shame about the thermostat - This heater is very nicely made. However, it s got one main design fault as far as I m concerned: The two main heating elements (1.0kW & 1.5kW) are always controlled by the thermostat - which wouldn t be so bad except that when set to maximum it would only let the heater heat my room to 23 C before tripping out. Only the smallest heating element (500W) is independent of the thermostat.Also, the manual is full of jargon which seems to make the heater appear more versatile than it is.
Cosey - I ve stopped using my storage heaters now -- this works perfectly, the timer s a God send and it warms a room much more quickly than even a wasteful fan heater. Get one now!
